Essential Oils are not really oils – they’re plant extracts that are used for their medicinal properties. As a massage therapist, I use these blends with my clients a lot. I also use essential oils to treat minor infections, cuts, burns, stress and much more. I use them in skin care, air fresheners, deodorant/perfume and in countless other ways.
Most essential oils should be diluted at a ratio of 1 drop to 1 Tbsp carrier oil, lotion or cream. (Some essential oils are safe to use undiluted on the skin, but if you don’t know which ones are safe, don’t try it.) I dilute most blends in a dropper bottle with jojoba, then use 1 drop of the diluted mixture with another ½-1 tsp massage lubricant for each body part. Stronger-smelling blends can be diluted even more. Remember that, with regard to aromatherapy, less is more – so don’t be afraid of diluting too much. If you can smell it, it’s working!

Clarity: 10 parts jojoba; 5 parts Lemon; 3 parts Eucalyptus; 2 parts Rosemary
Cleansing & Purifying: 14 parts jojoba; 2 parts Birch, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Rosewood, Vetivert; 1 part Lemongrass, Juniper.
De-Stress: 12 parts jojoba; 8 parts Bergamot; 3 parts Sandalwood; 1 part Lavender.
Focus: 10 parts jojoba; 6 parts Lemon; 3 parts Peppermint; 1 part Basil.

Ear Infections: 1 oz jojoba, 36 drops Tea Tree, 24 drops Lavender, 12 drops Thyme. 1 drop in affected ear 3-5x daily until resolved. 1 drop in each ear daily for prevention.
