Hyperbaric (pressurized) Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is offered as a stand-alone treatment or as part of a holistic wellness program. HBOT gently pushes oxygen from the bloodstream into oxygen-deprived areas of the body, such as the brain and other vital organs. Sufficiently oxygenated organs and tissues work better and heal faster than oxygen deprived organs and tissues, so ALL your other forms of therapy (manual therapies, nutritional therapies, and even drug therapies) work better!
“In March of 2019, I was diagnosed with a 25 year-old brain injury. My pre-diagnosis complaints included: severe brain fog, memory problems, cognitive difficulty (such as an inability to calculate simple math equations in my head, and loss of simple words while forming sentences), sleep deprivation, chronic fatigue, joint pain & stiffness (resulting from chronic systemic inflammation, which resulted from the brain injury), blurry vision, Swimmers Ear resulting in frequent ear infections & itchy ears, bladder frequency & urgency, balance & coordination problems, and cold hands & feet. Last year, I cut my hours back at work because of a loss of stamina, fatigue and burn-out.
I began HBOT treatments in July and immediately noticed remarkable improvement in my quality of sleep, moods, energy, and my joint pain & stiffness. My ears began to dry up and stopped itching. After about 10 treatments, I began to notice that it was easier for me to retain what I was reading without the need to re-read each sentence 2-3 times, I was more motivated and was getting projects done that I’d been putting off for months. Even my clients are noticing that my hands are warmer than before. After 20 treatments, I resumed a full-time work schedule!” ~ Chahna
Anonymous Client #1 is a 58 year-old woman who was diagnosed with MS nearly 20 years ago. Her pre-treatment complaints included: posture problems, difficulty walking, occasional pain in her lower R leg, consistent pain in lower legs for the first couple of hours after retiring to bed in the evenings, an inability to enjoy long walks. She felt that her condition had been rapidly deteriorating over the last several months to the point that she was afraid she would be forced to retire from her job. After only TWO (2) HBOT treatments, she reported to me that she slept exceptionally well and had ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN in her legs, and she went for a nice long walk the next day! (this post was updated on 7/14/19 and I will continue to track her progress and share it here)
Oxygen is the most basic and important building-block of all life. Why Western science seems to put so little importance on it defies logic!
When you take oxygen into your lungs under normal atmospheric pressure, that oxygen makes its way into your bloodstream. As we age, and especially with various (even minor) injuries to the body, it becomes increasingly difficult for the body to transfer oxygen from the bloodstream into the tissues (particularly to the brain), which is where it is most needed. (A pulse-ox text only measures the oxygen in your blood – not the amount in your tissues.) When your brain and other tissues become oxygen deprived, affected cells become dormant and begin to die off, resulting in brain fog, memory loss, dementia, blurry vision, chronic fatigue, depression, difficulty sleeping, decreased cognitive function (ie – inability to calculate simple math problems in your head or to come up with common words in conversation), joint pain & stiffness, progressive organ failure, and decreased resistance to disease.
When you gently push oxygen from the bloodstream into the tissues under slightly-higher-than normal atmospheric (hyperbaric) pressure, dormant cells can revitalize, new cells can be generated, your body can begin repairing the damage that occurred, and you can begin to look and feel decades younger almost immediately.

Soft-shelled mild chambers are safe because, unlike hard-shelled high-pressure chambers, they are pressurized with air, rather than concentrated oxygen. Oxygen is added through breathing tubes after the chamber has reached optimal pressure. With soft, mild chambers, you get all the benefit with none of the risk, compared to high-pressure chambers.

THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH
HBOT is safe and therapeutic for all ages!
- better sleep
- better concentration & mental clarity
- fewer aches & pains
- fewer colds & flu
- more energy
- accelerated healing
- better food metabolism, potentially resulting in decreased appetite, decreased obesity & improved health
- increased hydration of skin and cells
- feel younger, healthier and more vibrant
HBOT is especially recommended in combination with Holistic Manual Therapy and Massage Therapy, since Holistic Manual Therapy releases restrictions in the connective tissue that prevent some cells and tissues from receiving oxygen and Massage Therapy stimulates blood flow and thereby helps to distribute oxygen.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is the delivery of pressurized oxygen into the blood, cerebrospinal fluid, muscles, skin, brain, and vital organs. Without sufficient oxygen, only 5% of the nutrients in your food and dietary supplements can be used by the body. Therefore, oxygen deficiency results in a need to consume more calories in order to obtain the necessary nutrients to survive. This, in turn, results in obesity and many other health conditions.
HBOT is much more effective than traditional oxygen therapy, because the added use of pressure forces oxygen into resistant, oxygen-deprived tissues. HBOT has been used to effectively treat/prevent/relieve/improve the following conditions:
- Addiction
- ALS “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”
- Alzheimers
- Anoxic Brain Injury
- Arthritis
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Bone Healing
- Brain Injury, chemical or traumatic

HBOT has also been used to enhance the effects of cancer therapies, since increased oxygen makes the cancer cells more susceptible to radiation & chemotherapy.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy works best as a program with multiple, weekly treatments to train the body to increase its ability to transport oxygen. However, it can also be effective as a stand-alone treatment or is an excellent addition to other treatments or programs offered at Transformations Wellness Holistic Therapy Center.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is HBOT?
A: HBOT is an abbreviation for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a medical treatment which enhances the body’s natural healing process by delivering oxygen under pressure, increasing the oxygen content in the blood and in the cerebral spinal fluid, flooding the tissues with oxygen.
Q: How does HBOT work?
A:
- Hyperoxygenation – By increasing the oxygen dissolved in the plasma (the liquid portion of the blood), the lymphatic fluid, and the cerebrospinal fluid, HBOT increases the oxygen available to damaged tissues, stimulating healing.
- Neovascularization – HBOT stimulates blood vessel formation (angiogenesis) and collagen (connective tissue) formation in areas that were previously resistant due to lack of oxygen.
- Hyperoxia enhanced antimicrobial activity – HBOT reduces or eliminates the effects of toxic substances, bacteria, viruses, and yeast by increasing the tissue oxygen levels.
- Hyperoxia enhanced immune response – HBOT activates the white blood cells to fight infection, promoting resistance to infection, as well as wound healing. HBOT also helps to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress.
Q: What conditions are treated with HBOT?
A: HBOT is FDA approved to treat air or gas embolism, carbon monoxide & cyanide poisoning, crush injury & acute traumatic ischemia, decompression sickness, delayed radiation injury, diabetic foot ulcers, enhanced healing of problem wounds, exceptional blood loss, gas gangrene, intracranial abscess, necrotizing soft tissue infections, osteomyelitis (refractory), skin grafts and flaps (compromised), and thermal burns. Portable hyperbaric chambers are cleared by the FDA to treat acute mountain sickness. All other conditions treated by portable hyperbaric chambers are considered off-label or recreational uses.
Q: How many treatments will I need before I see results?
A: Everyone is different and everyone will experience healing differently. I am unable to make any guarantees or promises about what you will experience individually, because everyone has different factors affecting their health. Generally speaking, you might expect to notice a profound improvement in your quality of sleep, mood, and energy levels immediately after your first treatment. These effects are indicators that your organs are indeed oxygen deprived and you will likely benefit from continued treatment. After about 25 treatments, your body begins to make permanent healing repairs, such as building new blood vessels which will help you distribute oxygen to your organs more effectively, and developing more branches in the Axons of the brain, allowing them to come into contact with more cells, which permanently improves cognitive function. By your 40th treatment, you will likely be noticing profound improvements in your health, including more mental clarity and cognitive function, better organ function, clearer vision, better motor coordination. By your 80th treatment, other people will likely be noticing the difference in your appearance – you’ll look and feel decades younger and everyone will want to know your secret!
Q: How often can I take HBOT treatments?
A: You can safely receive HBOT treatments every day, as long as you’re feeling good with them. There is such a thing as oxygen toxicity where your oxygen levels get too high. You’ll know if/when this happens because you’ll start to feel run down and like you’re back-sliding in your progress. This rarely happens prior to 80 treatments. However, my recommendation is to take a short break (several weeks to a few months) after every 40-treatment block, or cut back to 1-2 monthly treatments on a maintenance schedule once you feel you’ve maxed out.
Q: Will my insurance cover HBOT treatments?
A: Many of the above uses are quite commonplace internationally, in countries such as Russia, China, Japan, Italy, and the U.K. However, because these conditions are considered off-label in the U.S., it means that insurance companies don’t have to reimburse you for the treatment of these conditions with HBOT, saving them billions of dollars. It also means that Big Pharma’s highly profitable blockbuster drugs will continue to be the first course of treatment for these conditions, despite their exorbitant costs, toxic side-effects, and detrimental long-term effects on your health.
Q: How does HBOT treat so many different conditions?
A: HBOT treats the underlying disease process that causes and perpetuates a wide variety of chronic conditions. HBOT is used therapeutically to treat conditions in which tissues have been damaged by oxygen deprivation. When the oxygen is restored to these tissues, much of the lost function returns. HBOT also helps to reduce inflammation and promote wound healing throughout the body and the brain.
Q: Are there many published studies on HBOT?
A: There are over 30,000 published scientific studies on HBOT.
Q: What happens during the treatment?
A: For many people, a session in a hyperbaric chamber is no different than an airplane flight. You need to be able to clear your ears to be comfortable. Once you have adapted to pressure and your ears adjust, you will feel completely normal in the chamber. You can bring a portable computer or an ipod into the chamber, along with beverages, blankets, and pillows. You can sit, exercise, sleep, read, listen to music, or watch videos.
Q: How safe is HBOT?
A: HBOT is very safe. The most common problem experienced by people undergoing HBOT is problems equalizing the pressure in their ears.
Q: Why do so few doctors know about HBOT?
A: Few medical schools offer classes or training in hyperbaric medicine. Big Pharma is heavily influential in determining the curriculum for medical education. The majority of clinicians are on Big Pharma’s payroll. Approximately 80% of continuing medical education courses are sponsored by Big Pharma. Approximately 90% of advertising in medical journals is for prescription drugs. Big Pharma has turned doctors into highly paid pill pushers who are often oblivious to the dangerous side effects of many of the drugs that they prescribe. It’s no wonder that most doctors know little about the health benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Q: How can I learn more about HBOT?
A: The most comprehensive book about HBOT is “The Oxygen Revolution: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: The Groundbreaking New Treatment for Stroke, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Arthritis, Autism, Learning Disabilities and More” by Paul Harch, M.D. This book is geared toward individuals who would like to learn more about how HBOT works and what conditions it treats. It explores the science behind HBOT, as well as the case histories of patients who have benefited from HBOT.
Q: What if I really need HBOT, but I can’t afford it?
A: You have options! If you are disabled, a full-time college student, or you are on a fixed low income, you can apply for my HBOT Assistance Program and pay heavily discounted rates on a sliding-fee scale, if you qualify. In the future, I also plan to offer a lease option where you can choose monthly equipment rental or lease-to-own options for home use. Please call or e-mail for details.
The following videos are provided for educational purposes. It is important to understand that most of the research is being done on the high-pressure chambers, and so the safety concerns mentioned in some of these lectures don’t apply to mild chambers, such as the ones used at Transformations Wellness. My mild chambers operation at 1.3 ATA or 4.4 psi and are very safe for public use.
