Favorite Words of Wisdom (My Philosophy)

“You cannot poison your body into health with drugs, chemo or radiation. The holistic approach treats the whole animal, ignites the body’s internal healing force and stimulates the body’s natural abilities to heal itself. Health can only be achieved with healthful living” T.C.Fry

My Purpose & Style

My primary goal in my practice is to help people realize health by understanding the nature of healing, the nature of the human experience and the multitude of treatment options available to them.

You are NOT merely a recipient of my services; you are an active participant. At the beginning of each appointment, we will discuss your needs and expectations for that visit, and I will customize a treatment for you. When you schedule a holistic appointment with the intention of creating change in your posture or improving your pain or health, we begin each treatment with a posture assessment to determine where your imbalances are, and we proceed the way your body dictates. Each treatment may be similar to or very different from the one before, depending on what we discuss and decide together.

What Is Holistic Structural Integration?

I’ll break this down word by word. First let’s discuss the word “holistic“, which is the most misunderstood word. Many people mistakenly believe that the inclusion of crystals and essential oils somehow magically transforms a conventional massage or other treatment into something “holistic”, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. “Holistic” refers to an approach – not a technique or tool. “Holistic” is the opposite of “allopathic”, which is the symptom-based approach most commonly used in the U.S. In terms of massage, it’s the “let me rub the spot that hurts until it feels better” approach with no regard for what’s causing the pain, which is likely to be somewhere else entirely. Allopathic = “let’s suppress your symptoms so you feel better.” Holistic = “let’s explore and discover the reason WHY you’re sick and then treat that problem.” Another thing that makes a treatment “holistic” is that it merely assists the body in its own natural healing process, rather than attempting to impose healing on the body with forceful, invasive, or chemical means. It is nature’s medicine. You could also call it “God’s medicine”.

Structural” refers to the human structure or frame; namely the skeletal structure and fascia or connective tissue of the body.

Integration” means that many techniques are integrated or combined together in order to produce the best possible results.

Holistic Structural Integration” is a form of health care that makes use of a variety of techniques in order to correct imbalances in the human frame (aka “posture problems”) which are the true source of most pain and dysfunction by assisting the body in natural self-healing.

There are several techniques, in which I have been trained, that I can say helped to inspire my unique style in my work. These include:

  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Active Release
  • Positional Release (aka Strain-Counterstrain)
  • John F. Barnes holistic approach to Myofascial Release
  • Rossiter Stretching Technique
  • The Graston Technigue
  • Neural Reset Therapy (like Muscle Energy technique)
  • CranioSacral Therapy

Holistic Structural Therapy is NOT massage. Some of the work may be performed on the floor, and some will take place on a treatment table (like a massage table). Some is relaxing, some may be slightly uncomfortable to quite intense, but none is painful. All produce profound, amazing results. For some, it can even be life-changing!

Thanks to the [treatment], biofeedback and customized self-care exercises assigned to me I am currently free of pain and I can focus on my work better. Chahna’s techniques have been very effective with loosening up tense muscles and improving the circulation of oxygen and blood flow in my body. The very first appointment I had at Transformations Wellness opened my eyes and made me a believer. I highly recommend Transformations Wellness to anyone that prefers a holistic method of healing and natural healthcare program.” ~ Katherine, Miami, Texas

Hi Chahna, I got a great sense of how important your mission is to you, and so I thought you’d enjoy a follow-up report on my experience with your bodywork. Admittedly, when I left you I felt perhaps as much discomfort as I had the whole week, but by about four hours later I was marveling at how good I felt! I guzzled water, and made sure that this time I had plenty of back support in the “torture chair”, and 90% of my pain was gone! On that [pain] scale of 1-10, where you wanted to get it down to a “2”, I’d say we made it down to “1”. Thank you for your excellent care, and for the education that came with it about taking care of myself… I look forward to coming back to Cheyenne… Many thanks,” – Leslie Getty, Boulder, Colorado

I developed tendonitis in my right arm, which was very painful and affected my ability to do my job. Chahna was able to work me into her schedule the same week. She assessed my pain and developed a therapy based on my individual needs. She used neuromuscular-therapy and cupping-therapy on me and continually provided explanations of the process and the benefits it would provide. I never heard of cupping before Chahna, but I loved the results! I noticed less pain and increased comfort the next day. My arm continues to heal thanks to Chahna’s professional therapy and I continue to recommend her to my friends and coworkers.” ~ Kacey Gallagher, Cheyenne, Wyoming

I have been a client at Transformations Wellness for over 10 years. I have always loved the variety of services offered and Chahna’s eagerness to continually learn new techniques to provide those unique touches to what she offers. I especially love her commitment to the holistic therapy. This treatment process has provided a great improvement in my overall health. Every session has given me a great release from old scars from physical and emotional injuries and stressors. I’m convinced that regular sessions is key to living a healthier, pain-free life.” ~ D.S., Cheyenne, Wyoming

I have been getting regular massages for 11 years. After a car accident in 1998, I started visiting massage therapists to relieve the pain in my neck and back. I’ve seen many massage therapists throughout the years, but none of them compare to the relief I’ve felt since starting with Chahna at Transformations Wellness. She is extremely thorough before each massage; asking me questions about where I need relief, and then focusing on those areas until we’re both satisfied. She also is unique in the techniques that she specializes in. I’ve been particularly impressed with the addition of deep-tissue stretches to my massage. I leave each session feeling 100% better than when I walked in – and always anxious to go back! I recommend Transformations Wellness to anyone who is looking for relief, relaxation, and getting great value…!” – Monica, Cheyenne, Wyoming

The environment is tranquil and invites relaxation as soon as you walk through the door. In my opinion, she is the best massage provider in Cheyenne!” ~ Kirbie Brown, Cheyenne, Wyoming

I’m new to the area and use to getting weekly massages to keep my body healthy and strong. I found Transformations Spa on the web. I like the weekend and late hours appointments. Chahna is friendly and the spa is clean, warm and relaxing! Chahna gave me a great massage on her [Bio Mat] that aided in the treatment. The spa membership program makes it easy to treat yourself to monthly massages. I’m so glad to have found Transformations Spa and look forward to trying the other services she offers.” ~ Diana Lustick, Livermore, Colorado

After spending years searching for the perfect massage therapist, I happened upon an advertisement for a weight loss method that I had never seen before; Ultrasound Cavitation. I sent an email to Chahna and she promptly responded, answering my numerous questions about the procedure. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and Chahna walked me through the entire process. Before, during and after my initial appointment, Chahna continued to be attentive to my progress and needs… I continue to see Chahna on a regular basis for massage and spa services as a proud member of her monthly membership club! With all the perks and discounts that this program offers, it is obvious that Transformations Wellness cares for its customers and is aimed at keeping us all happier and healthier through the power of massage therapy and relaxing spa services. I have been a Transformations Wellness client for several years and have appreciated the excellent, professional treatment I have received. Recently, I joined the Transformations Wellness Spa Membership Program and have been pleasantly surprised by an additional benefit the membership program provides: Since all payment arrangements have been made in advance based on the program I can afford, I have experienced an even more relaxing experience. The no-hassle process assures that I leave after every massage feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.” ~ Karen Rich, Cheyenne, WY

I found Transformations Wellness on the internet. I was looking for more than just the mechanical hour massage of a semi-trained masseuse. I wanted to be able to tell the masseuse what hurt … and know that they knew what to do … I made an appointment and, after the first visit, I knew I had found the place I was looking for. Transformations has everything you could want: Knowledge and experience, a facility that is comforting and clean, a multitude of procedures depending on your needs and wants, and it just keeps getting better… I can choose my music and scents I like for my massage. I list where my aches are and how much pressure she can use to get results. Then if I want extras, like the Infrared Sauna or scrubs or whatever those little extras I decide on are discounted or free! When I leave, I am transformed into a relaxed and happy person… The knowledge and attitude of the owner is very impressive. Chahna is professional, yet warm and very likable. You immediately feel she is there to help you and make you better. I have found the best place for me to receive the best services and care that I have found anywhere.” ~ Teresa, Cheyenne, WY

I had a very painful back spasm that my husband ended up taking me to the emergency room for. I took pain killers and muscle relaxers for a couple of weeks, and the knot was bearable, but still painful. Then I had my monthly massage with Chahna, and my back suffered a spasm during our session. Chahna quickly massaged one spot, I got no relief, and she switched to another [and the spasm stopped]. It was amazing! She worked a spot under my arm that I would have thought was totally unrelated to my back, and the knot released. I hadn’t been able to get that kind of relief from weeks of pills! I’m a believer in her knowledge and ability!” ~ Mandy, Cheyenne, WY
